You're a braver man than me Mike lying down on what must be Penguin guano central.....low angle is great, even if you did get up smelly hehehehe
Again like the other shot the subjects are well isolated from the rest and just enough dof to make out the others clearly but not distract from Mum and Bub
Such a marvelous image, Mike. I love being able to see the others in the background going about their business. At the same time--as Phil points out--they're blurry enough to not be too distracting. The staredown the parent is giving you is priceless, and it's great to see just the little one's face, and to have it be vocalizing. So much to look at here.
As usual, your exposure and low angle are perfect. Nice job on your comp too.
Splendid image Mike, Nice composition, HA and the chick is a bonus. well done.
This is one case that I love you went really low! In a perfect world....wish the BG penguin weren't by mom's breast......but a fantastic image even with that!
Great frame Mike. The angle is low enough to get your subject's head above the clutter of other penguins. Love the sense of habitat and the nice behavior captured. Tech specs are up to your usual standard of excellence. Well done!
Upcoming Workshops: Bosque del Apache 2019, Ecuador 2020 (details coming soon)

I love this...looks like we are part of the colony. I only wish the little guy's eye was more visible (darker?) if it is open. Great stuff!!
Very, very nice, Mike. A winner all the way. Head-on HA works great here. what a face, huh. the low angle, the other penguins in the BG, the chick with bill open, the stare...so many things to like. Must have great fun....so many different actions and perspectives to photograph.
I love the 45mm used here, which creates a large size difference between the primary subject and the background, and gives a wonderful sense of space.
