    Wonderful image,
The front on image in flight is always special, Superb background and a wonderful composition
The slight head turn exposing one eye is a classical key to this image for me
    Lovely all the way.

Super image love the pose and the exposure - fine image with lots of detail. I know this is hypercritical but if you were going to make a print I would check out the background between the wing tips, you appear to have less noise reduction there than elsewhere in the back ground. I find the quick selection/magic wand tool invaluable for those awkward little areas.

Excellent wing positions and BG. Good exposure. It looks a bit sift to me.

Great wing spread and colors in this one, very handsome looking raptor, love the intense stare, but wishing the eye was a little more turned towards the camera, a tad soft but maybe another round of selective sharpen will fix

The beautiful colors, wingspread, and background make for a lovely portrait, Chris. I would run another round of sharpening.
Image of the year winner 2010? Wow! I'll have to go back and look at that.

My biggest question would be - Is this a crop, there seems to be some detail loss in the image (or is it because of the 2x tc) On the brighter side though I think that the wing spread is fantastic and so is the eye contact. A good image and a nice species to have in one's kitty!! Thanks

    Hey Chris,
It does look like it could use another round of USM but the wing position and BG are fantastic.

Superb wingspread and a beautiful BG. I agree about the apparent softness but the image is properly focused. I can just imagine if both wings were lit equally.

Great bird, pose, and bg. Could be a bit sharper.

Chris, beautiful bird, great pose and BG. Placement and size of the bird is excellent.

good catch by Johnathan on noise between the primaries. Yes, some PP work will help. Was the catchlight added/ enhanced in post ?
