    Default Eastern Spinebill

One from a couple of weeks back at Walkerville - I actually didn't "completely" set this up - I found a fallen tree which had all the lichen on it, and called the bird in.

This is very nice. I like the perch, the BG, and the details on the bird are very nice. TFS

    Greg -

Very nice perch, pose, and bg. The lichen on the tree looks great, and the "set-up" looks very natural. The bird itself looks great!

I'm seeing a bit of posterization in the bg (probably from downsizing?)

Great techs, colours, comp, subject. I'd may be tempted to clean up the pupil a bit, and I'm wondering what the faint lines in the BG are.

Beautiful pic! I, too, would clean up the pupil.

Liking the lichen perch a lot and great side on profile Greg, but yes something odd is happening on the backdrop

Thanks for the feedback guys - the background is actually a shrub in the background with filtered late afternoon sun coming through. I could have cloned out all the soft lines in the b/g, but I thought it actually was a bit different from the standard "flat" background and gave an interesting effect...
    Cheers, Greg

BG seems totally natural to me, it does not need to be a solid color, in my opinion. Love the pose, light and good thing you found an attractive brach and that the bird posed for you.

Gorgeous image, as said above. I think the slight texture in the BG adds to the interest.
