    Default Barred Owl.

It looks that I only have had good shots (just a few) from the first shooting, when I used the 500 and found it too long for the situation.
I went out a few times since.
I either did not find the Owl or I found it half berried into a Pine tree.
This is the second frame from the same shooting, same perch, different pose.
Larger than the original. I added canvas to the left, right and top.
    Thanks for looking.

    Hi Karl,
I really like the clear, unobstructed view of this owl.
Great diagonal perch and good IQ.
I would smooth out the canvas extension on the RHS of frame.

    Very nice shot.
I really like the side lighting, nice details, and really like the diagnol perch.
A better head angle down towards would have been great, but still a great shot.
    Well done.

Liking the perch running diagonally, sharp detail and nice uncluttered comp....I'd be inclined to smooth out the added canvas on the right and even out the brownish splotch on the bottom left below the branch

Hi Karl, Im glad he came out into the open for you, and posed against a clean BG. A diagonal perch always works well, and love the pop of yellow of his bill.

    Karl-

Very nice capture of this owl out in the open. I agree with Gail about smoothing out the addition on the right.

I only wish you could see both feet, but you did great with what you were given.

Thank you Gail, thank you all. I did smoothen out the right hand side and although nobody mentioned, I sharpened the bird a little bit.
Miguel, miy previous posting of the same bird shows both legs, but only one eye is lit. This one has both eyes lit but only one leg shows.
If only you can combine the two. I can but I chose not to.

    Hey Karl,
Good suggestions above and nice job with the repost. Before reading anything.....the tan area on the LL was catching my eye a bit. Perhaps painting over with the blue at a lowered opacity to minimize it? Just some more food for thought to a very nice image!
