    Add remask.

Saw this seal swimming in the bay a few days ago, and just thought he would fit this pic nicely.

Hi Mitch, Nice composition and colors. I like both...I am wondering what if you darken the seal completely as if it was looking at the rising sun. It may make it even stronger... just a thought.

Hi Mitch, I like the original and think the seal looks a little out of place - especially with the front light as mentioned by Indranil. There is no light source that would justify the light on the face and that is the basis of my thought. Going back to the original, there are some white lines on the edges of the frame at the upper left, lower left, and lower right edges.

P.S. - We prefer that you start a new thread for a new image, as it is difficult to critique two images in one post. Thanks!

Is this more what you were thinking, or did you mean a complete silhouette?

I agree with Kerry re the seal. It's very difficult to get that "special" sun/water photo that is not just a duplicate idea of others. Here you have so many good elements--a variety of clouds to give texture, centered, perfect light across the water, color---the seal is just too much for the quality of the photo. And to make it a silhouette would really confuse me--what is that thing sticking up?

HI Mitch,,,,I prefer the first image........nice work with the flood filter......You might consider a silouette of some recognizable shape beside the seal.

Lovely colors and simplicity to the first image create a tranquil end-of-the-day mood. The pop-up head of the seal made me laugh but I agree it is tough to make it really work with the image.

    Default Consensus developing...

Thanks Kerry, Hazel, Bob & Nancy.

It looks like a consensus is developing. Dump the Seal!

And yet, I do like the fancy of it...

Mitch, I think the original post is "simply" beautiful. The seal image made me laugh and I thought it was rather fanciful
