Light and details are great. I'm wondering if a slightly higher angle in order to be able to see the feet would have made the image even better.

    Hi Adams,
Lovely shot...very nice, but I think I agree with Axel that seeing the feet is nice. Perhaps the feet are in water? Still, I really like it. The bird is a Wilson's Plover.

    Hi Greg,
Thank you for the bird ID. The feet were under water and i was laying flat on the mud with my hand under the foot of a 600mm. I tried to get a little higher but my arms was shaking a little to much.

I think the DOF at that reach and low viewpoint is so stunning.

    Hey Adams,
Yes, I know all about that arm shaking with a 600...a brute of a lens to handle off a tripod, but wonderful to look through. Rod is correct...I's a female Wilson's Plover...I did not specify male or female but should have. Male Wilson's at this time of year show a black breast band and more black across the top of the forehead. Nice shot.

I love it as presented, fan of OOF foregrounds as long as they are not too wide and uniform. I'd clone out the distraction on the fg. Great job!

I love this. The OOF foreground gives it a dreamy look. Consider cleaning up the odd reflection in the foreground.

Wow I think this is wonderful and have no problem with the out of sight feet.Better out of sight feet than out of sight head :-)

A lovely image overall and well executed, yet I too believe it would be even better with the feet.

I agree with Gayle on the dreamy background look. It has lots of dof, a good feel and great details. Leave it as is.

Hard to see the feet when they are underwater! I love this and agree particularly with Fabs and Gayle. Best feature: the perspective and the soft light.

Really well done, Adams. You know how I'm a fan of this style of image. I really love the eye contact and perspective. I'd actually crop just above your copyright signature.

This is an amazing shot Adams. There is a uniquness about this image, something I have never seen before in a shorebird image., the bird seems to me in a place that is almost unreal.. dreamy I guess., since the only object in the image in focus is the bird.

I know how you feel about the arms shaking, happened to me a few times!

    congrats, spectacular shot imo, masterpeice.

Great one! I vote for seeing the feet or where they disappear into the water or mud though! Dan Brown
