Photographed in the Cactus Garden at the Bosque del Apache while I was waiting/hoping for the reappearance of a beautiful Altamira Oriole. The garden was busy with bunnies, horned toads, lizards, roadrunners, summer tanagers, blackchinned hummingbirds, and quail. I just wish one of the several photos of this bird had just the right head turn.

I wish you would have aimed the lens a little lower to capture more of the perch. Still very nice, and a wonderful species...but it seems it could go a tad brighter.
Thanks, Daniel. I went back to see if I had any that included more of the cactus but now I remember why I didn't get more. I was shooting through the branches of a shrub and got OOF branches when I tried to shoot lower.
You did well for what you had Gayle. I have never been to Bosque, I want to go for our next Anniversary, but who knows. Keep posting your trip images for us. We appreciate it very much. And...you can always go back for seconds!
