    Default Oriole?

This bird was photographed in June in Cleveland.
I think its an Oriole..or maybe a Meadowlark, but I'm not sure.

Hi Doug- Orioles and meadowlarks are in the same family- the New World blackbirds, or Icteridae. This is an oriole, I would say a male Baltimore in moult. Meadowlarks are birds of open fields and have a different patterning. The small patches of yellow on the black head make me think this is a moulting male.

Thanks John. If I have time, I'll post another one shot on the same day that I think is an oriole,
but this one has a red/orange breast and black top.

Without seeing the photo, black top with red orange breast...Orchard Oriole. The Orchard and Baltimores range overlaps.
