This shot was taken to day at high tide at Hoylake a small town on north coast of the small peninsula where I live. My dilemma was getting close enough or far enough away to try to convey the many thousands of waders present. Most were knots but there were golden plover and dunlins and sanderlings.
Your comments would be appreciated. I will post a really crowded shot tomorrow, I think that will really show how dense these flocks are.

Difficult shots to pull off. I really like the few below in various stages of walking, running, taking off.

A bit more DOF is always helpful for this type of image.

I like the BG, variety of species and exposure.

Hi Jon, I feel this already shows the vast amount of birds present, and its fun looking at all the different flight poses. The 132nd bird on the left needs a touch more sharpening.

I love these kind of " fill the frame with life " shots, this one great too as most of the birds are in good focus....except of course the 132nd bird as Stuart pointed out

Now that troublesome bird has been pointed out I will patch it with the one 65th from the right, this will overcome OOF and also improve the composition
