    Default Picnic among the daffodils

I caught this spider having lunch today among the daffodils in the garden. Natural light, Canon 40D with Sigma 150 and Sigma 2x f/16 ISO 800, 1/60 sec, +0.67 EV. I probably should have gone to f/22 but felt that I was already pushing it a bit given the very light breeze.

Comments and critique are much appreciated.

    Cheers!

    Hi Bruce,
You would defnitely be pushing it with natural light. You may have been able to use the pop up flash on the 40D as fill and should try it. You can also try going to 1250 on the 40D....with noise reduction.... maybe the same results in natural light. Overall very nice comp and exposure,

Excellent job, the diagionals make a great comp, colors fading from geen to yellow look sweet, and the fact that it is feeding is great.

I think it is a small wolf spider.

I prefer natural light but in this case, flash would have brought some more details and enhanced the sharpness a bit.

I like a lot, maybe they have a point about the flash. Lovely compo and colors!

Pleasing composition and nice colors Bruce. I agree flash could have helped here. I often use the pop-up flash for macro work, actually works better than a flashgun.

Looks good to me, the spiders really stand out well against the vibrant BG. DOF looks good.

Hi Bruce - A spider image with a difference!!
I like your diagonal composition here and the sharp focus on the main subject. Well done!!
