    Default Beautiful Firetail

This is an uncommon grassfinch that inhabits the cooler, coastal forests of eastern Australia.

Love the image design Greg. The slanted perch is beautiful. The bird placement is perfect and I love the look back pose. The BG is excellent too.
Having not seen this bird, I couldn't be sure, but it seems like the image is a tad contrasty.

As you say it's an uncommon species and the only place I have come across them is on Kangaroo Island.

Liking the over the shoulder HA, finely marked striations on the back and the the natural seed head perch. Stands out well from the smooth backdrop as well.....contrast is a personal choice, I like it as is as it gives the image a nice richness of color...great little bird, well done Greg

Nice colourful bird and you captured an excellent looking back pose. I also like the smooth bacground and the diagonal perch, Greg.

REally Beautiful Bird. perfectly placed in the frame. view of the back works for me in this case, the head turn is perfect too. The reds are a little overcooked on my monitor.

The top part of the perch is a little overwhelming/distracting.

Is this a largish crop? in that case, the sharpness or IQ has suffered a little IMO.
