A Sandhill Crane from Bosque Del Apache

    Canon 1D4, 500mm, 1.4x

I liked the light and the fact that both eyes are visible and evenly lit.
    All comments appreciated.
    Thanks!

The light and image is beautiful. I love the warm tones in the completely uncluttered BG. The splash with the one foot adds life to the photo. Very nice!

Great light on this shot. Wing position and the fact that we can see both eyes well makes for a beautiful capture. The splash is a nice touch too. Techs look perfect. Nice work.

Hi Sid, lovely soft light, and you have brought out good feather detail on the crane. Im amazed that with the head tilted ever so slightly to the crane's right, that both eyes are still clearly visible. What I call timing is how the toenail of the right foot is juuust touching the water. The colours in the BG are stunning. Well captured.

Congratulations on a wonderful image that's also a bit different which can be hard to do at Bosque!
Agree with all of the excellent critiques above.

Only thing I would add is that it's a little tight at the bottom for my taste, especially with such a dynamic landing pose.

Gorgeous, Sid. I agree that seeing the two eyes is a real plus and I like the little splash. I'm at Bosque this week (until Sunday) and haven't been very happy with most of what I've gotten so far.

Super image, l really like that you can see it's eyes and it was not looking downward.
All it needs is a frame and wall to hang it.
