A common but very nice bird of South American highlands. Wish that patch of dry grass wasn't there...

Ignacio, what a beautiful bird. And well photographed here. Liked your low angle and pose. Exposure and processing looks very good. Dark patch in shade is a challenge and I am seeing details there. Well done.

Absolutely nothing like our Lapwings here, this is a stunning bird, but judging by the open beak it has a similar temperament as out local ones . Wonderful color captured and fine detail is eye catching. I like composition in the frame, I myself would clone out the oof yellow flower though to give this a super smooth backdrop .....love this shot and another species I did not know existed.

Very nice shot of this Lapwing. Low angle, pose with the open mouth, exposure and nice detail make for a great image. Well done

Really cool looking bird. I like the low angle and the open beak. BG looks good. I am not bothered by the dry grass patch.

Absolutely superb image of colorful lapwing.Beautiful colors, lights, sharp details and nice BG.
Love the pose with open beak and nice low angle.
If mine ,would merge the bright yellow spots of BG with greens.

    Regards,
    Satish.

Love the pose and colours, harsh light but dealt with best you could. I too would eliminate the yellow flowers. As for the dry patch you do not like...you can select it and then tweak the colour via "Color Balance" or "Selective Color" to green it up like the rest of the grass, or simply darkening it may reduce its' impact.
