very cool eye contact! it's a bit tight for my taste, you can post 800 pixels tall.

Excellent. I like the hint of greenery in the bg. Max eye contact here.
Beautiful bird...lucky you to find one so tolerant.
The eyes are gorgeous, lucky you to get so close.
Nice IQ and stare,
It could be a bit looser crop for me.

Beautiful portrait.Nice IQ.Love the eyes, colors and details on face.

Satish.
Steve:
Powerful eye contact. Always amazed by the soft feathers on the ears. Does look like a little motion blur on the ear on the left side of the frame.
Normally a looser crop would be preferable for me, but that perhaps would bring the bright BG into too much play.
Cheers
Randy
Nice eye contact and I kind of like the tight crop in this case.
Even with a little more space you won't lose that eye contact - Nice detail.
Wonderful close up shot.
Love those eyes, excellent detail, and nice background.
Agree on a much more loose crop.
Well done.
Steve, a fine portrait. Lots of details and one awesome stare. My suggestion would be to add more at the bottom if you have. That will also get the eyes closer to rule-of-thirds...I think that will look better. It will be little more loose without getting any more BG in the frame.
Thank you all for the look, comments, and suggestions.
Nice portrait. I really like the colours and eyes.
Hi Steve, great to see you popping in here, and what a great subject to share with us. I love all Owls, and I could look at the detail and patterns around the face for ages. Of course those two large eyes are memerising.
Thanks for the look Karl and Stuart.
