Beautiful photo. Very sharp. Where was this taken?

I love bald eagles. You did a great job on the exposure, especially the whites.
Do you have any others with a head turn more toward the camera?

You have a very nice pose on your bird, John, and a super perch. Head looks sharp, and your bird well exposed. The BG is a little busy, but I understand you have no choice here. If it were mine, I would crop from the left, that very dark portion. This would also help to move your bird just a little more to the left of the frame.

    John,

What a great moment with nature, just look at this beautiful powerful creature - the vert framing is spot-on. The subject placement and controlling what is included and excluded from the pic is an opportunity to improve. Understand you want the viewer to stay in the four corners of the image but the large perch tends to allow the eye to exit the bottom of the frame. Take some paper and look for cropping options that provide balance and harmony and a focus on this great subject - nice one - keep em coming.

Was this HH, nice detail in the head maybe some hot pixels but on balance not bad and good reach for a 300,..nice technique with the TC's and 800 ISO.

Excellent photo, maybe a slight crop from the bottom and left may improve the composition slightly. Eagles make great subjects, and you have captured and exposed this one perfectly. I love the detail in the dark feathers.

Beautiful Bird and over all photograph . One thing that I'm struggling with is the brightness with the Bg. If it were mine I would have burned the Bg a bit ,enough to give some separation . But then again I burn all my Bgs ...lol

John....I would take a tiny sliver off the left and a tiny sliver off the bottom. The very bright limb to the birds left needs to be toned down to keep the eye from going there.....beautifully exposed! I hope to see more of your work!

Even though the background is pretty busy John it doesn't detract from your beautiful subject. I don't have a problem with the Eagles head position as what we are seeing is great profile of this raptor.
