There was a big flock of about 200 birds feeding on berries at the University arboratom of Guelph.
Initially that was the problem; too many birds.
By next day they settled and were not so hungry.
It was easier to single out one.
    Thanks for looking.

    Karl:

Some of the softest, most beautiful birds. The soft light gave you beautifully saturated colors without blowing out the whites.

I like the berries. Would consider doing some gentle cloning work on the patch of sky, simply because it is close enough to the head that it tends to draw my eye away.

    Cheers

    Thanks Randy,

I did the corrections you suggested. Also, cleaned the top of the beak.

Great capture of a gorgeous bird,Karl.Your re-post is a great improvement.I would be tempted to remove the remaining distracting sky patches , to focus even more on the bird.

The top of the bill looks a bit funky to my eye, like maybe a bit of something remains from cloning. Otherwise, a lovely image with the bird nicely positioned in the frame.

A perfect pose by this beauty, and you've captured his stunning colors and soft textures very nicely. Last repost really helps. Just a nit, but I wonder if a little eye doctor work might make it seem sharper.

    Lovely bird and perch!

Comp seems a bit tight/awkward. Would prefer less on top and more on bottom and left if you have it.

Thanks, Mike. Yes, I have it but it would be a lot of work since I do the crop and then the processing.
Next time I'll pay more attention to it.

Thanks Bill. I actually did work on the eye. Then my wife came by and sait it looked funny, so I dropped it.

    Wonderful shot.
Terrific pose, excellent details, really like the perch, and your last repost is much better.

Lovely shot Karl, repost is an improvement, but I would also do a quick tweak on the eye to rid it of the slight blue haze covering the pupil area

This is a beautiful bird, and I like the work you've done to cover the sky. I agree darkening the pupil would be good here, but as you saw from your wife's remark it can be a fine balance.
