My first post on BPN...
It was taken in Costa Rica last month....

Welcome to BPN Rajesh. Lovely bird, great BG. A tighter crop would work better IMO, there is too much dead space on the RHS. What equipment did you use ?

Thanks Sanjeev. I am using Canon 5D Mark II with 500/ F4.

Nice shot Rajesh. Looks like the perch is interesting as well, you could've included some more of it in the shot, and as Sanjeev said - crop out a bit of negative space on the RHS. Good exposure levels though.

A well exposed shot but I feel the composition is not quite there, adding a little to the left and removing a piece fro the right would fix that. One thing to bear in mind is that when you get an almost head on shot like this, whilst initially very pleasing it soon becomes a little less than ideal because part of the bill is soft due to DOF and seeing the OOF bill and sharp eyes is sometimes a little unsettling visually.

Welcome to Avian Rajesh!! What a beautiful bird and setting! The repost is a big improvement on the composition. Now you only need to tone down the brighter part of the perch along its' top. I did prefer the finish at left edge of the original though as that extra white part is distracting to me. A bit less of HA would be best. Well exposed, sharp, and the background is extra nice. Well done, hope to see more!

Yes i think this is an improvement, regarding the bare wood extreme left, I would clone a bit of the moss into it and voila!!

Big time welcome Rajesh-bhai. I'd go with the original side to side crop with a pano crop from the top. Lots of good suggestions above. Man of the problems with this image are a result of a poor light angle with the light coming from behind and above the bird, thus the too-bright back of the bird and top of the perch.... Even in faint light best to try and point your shadow roughly at the subject.
