    Default Southern Emu-wren

This is a tiny, secretive wren which is very hard to get out into the open. After many many hours of trying to get a clean image of this species, one finally popped up in response to some "pishing". Not the shot I was after, but I was rapt to just get an image at all!

    Thanks Greg.

A very good score Greg, these Wrens are extra special. I'm not even going to bother with any kind of C&C, just scoring one in the open is way good enough mate.

Just finished editing same with similar pose Greg, but yours is better having a blue sky, mine is an overcast bleached sky, with more sticks to contend with. Yours has much better tail definition....these guys are by no means easy, very very hard to entice them out of the bushes....well done indeed. First time I seen one of these I was so excited, and I've tried a few more times on my travels far afield, but mostly I catch fleeting glimpses of then running from bush to bush. What part of Victoria did you find these if I may ask ?

Hi Greg, comp works well, and I like how the tail follows the line of the perch. The semi raised foot adds too. I know how you feel with subjects always diving into foliage, so congrats on getting this in the open.

Thanks guys - Phil, this was taken down at Walkerville, near Wilson's Promontory. I have a reliable site for them here,
    Cheers Greg
