    Default Piping Plover

Was photographing them on the sand and noticed a small group coming in to join,
so I quickly changed my settings for a possible flight shot.

    Tim:

Well exposed, nice small bank towards us, pretty good detail despite the crop, comp is good. Could consider removing the lower catchlight to see if it helped the apparent sharpness of the eye.

    Cheers

Not an easy flight shot as they are sooooo fast. Well done. Spot on exposure and great BG.

What a feat to capture one of these fast little guys in flight. Perfect light angle, great focus and exposure. I agree with Randy about the double catchlight, and there may be just a hint of oversharpening on the near wing coverts. But congrats are due for catching this speedster.

Such a difficult bird to photograph in flight. Very nicely done. Since you have cropped quite a bit, I might consider a looser composition to retain a bit better IQ and sharpen a bit less. I feel you are right on the edge here. That said, I wish this one was in my files!

Very nice shot. Tough to do, I would be thrilled with this.

Wow how great to get one of these little guys in flight. The detail is amazing as well and I like the soaring wing pose too

Excellent image and capture. Well processed. I like the wing position with the slight tilt towards us, and the very slight head turn is killer.

Too good too good, I can appreciate how hard it is to get these guys in flight, I've only ever managed it once and not as good as this, the clarity in the foremost wing is excellent, IQ all over is very nice.....yes to removing one of the catchlights in the eye

excellent shot with great light and a nice BG. I like the dorsal view.

I would post this at 1024 pixels, 800 pixel is a bit too small to see all the beautiful details

Not much details in the RAW. I had to mess around with it like most of my large cropped photos. Unfortunately my gear leaves plenty to the imagination in the "detail" department : )

----I've never heard of taking out a natural catch-light in the eye. To me it seems kinda counterproductive, but I will give it a shot.

    Thanks all !!
