Default Wood Stork with Nesting Material

    Attached Images Attached Images

This nesting Wood Stork was photographed while standing on my friend's boat. Once we figured out the path the wood storks were taking to bring in their nesting material, we set up the boat with the best light angle near their flight path. Not the greatest light, but they didn't get busy until the light got a little higher. (I hope he was rewarded when he returned to the nest. )

Sweeeeet! Awesome nesting material and pose!!! Been staring at computer monitor all day....so take this with a grain of salt.....but would tone down the brightness a few points.....mostly for the sky! Iridescence shows off really well......so all in all even if My bleary eyes are right......simple tweaks to an awesome image!

You captured this guy at a great angle. The nesting material adds a lot. Yikes, standing on a boat...Nice job!

Iridescence shows off very well in the shot, the whites on top of the right wing might be just a bit too bright. Perfect angle and nesting material is a bonus.

Hi Marina, good flight pose with the raised wings, and just enough nesting material not to be too overpowering. Great view of the eye. I have dumped plenty images where the eye has been covered by nesting material.

Excellent exposure work. Nice tight flight composition. I love the exquisite little piece of nesting material.
The only thing that could have made this better is some cloud definition in the background....

This is a gorgeous flight shot Marina. The wings are in a good upward position and the bird is evenly lit with no shadow. A blue sky and last but certainly not least a nice leafy twig in it’s bill makes this a stand out image.

The eye contact makes this work very well, just sneaking out above the branch.
Also having the Green leaves intact is a real bonus.
Nice eye to get in position for the shot.

    Marina:

Excellent pose, angle in frame, plat matter, sharpness.

The whites look good on my monitor, probably in the 230s.

    Nice DOF too.

    Cheers

This is such a pretty image, Marina. The light looks great to me!
The comp and pose are excellent. The nesting material, especially the green leaves add so much to this fine image.

    I really like this Marina.
My favorite part are the trailing pink feet.
Excellent nesting material and you got the eye as well which is great.
I like Roman's idea of decreasing the brightness of the sky by a couple of points only and maybe the bird by 1 point.
The near wing detail is lovely and the iridescence on the right wing really adds,
    Gail

These are such great looking birds in flight, and you've got good light on him and a great wing-up pose. But the green of the nesting material puts it over the top -- good thing it missed his eye. I thought the brightness looked pretty good on my monitor. Well done.

Very nice behavioural shot and good timing. The light may not have been ideal but I think you have done a very good job on such contrasting plumage. If I would modify anything I would perhaps reduce the contrast a little, i.e. the brightest a little less bright and the darkest a little less dark.

Really nice Marina. For some reason I real like these characters! The pink feet and green vegetation add a nice element of color to the otherwise b&w photo. Nice that you can see the eye. Great wing position. A bit tight in the frame for me.

I really like the way the greens are flowing and they go well with the angles the bird is creating with the wings. I also like that you can see a bluish green color on the wings showing they are not black as some people think. Great pose too

Picture perfect Marina. Nice flight pose, good exposure, and excellent detail. I like how the nesting material doesn't obstruct the eye.
