I love the soft light and sharp clean detail of the bird. The photo has a nice monochromatic feel about it with all the tones having a warm brown to orange quality. A lovely soft background and last but lot least the water blurred by a slow shutter speed finishes the photo of nicely. A very nice image Geir.

Excellent sharpness and details on bird...love the use of slow shutter and bird co-operated really well here...dark line formed in front of bird in BG is distracting

Very nicely done! Great technique to get the subject in good sharpness at such a low SS. I agree that the moving water adds to the image. I would possibly add just a touch of contrast to the Sandpiper and clone out the brown just above the back.

    Geir:

Well done with slow shutter speed to blur the water, fortunate to have a still bird. I agree with Sachin about the curved line in front of the bird, I would consider so very light clone stamp work just to soften it a bit.

Great use of shutter speeds, the water over the reef is great but the bird sharp and beautifully detailed, quality of light here is nice, lovely mood. I too would consider removing the darker band/line in front of the bird, but I dont see it as essential to make this work.

Terrific details in your bird, and I like the motion of the water. Agree on toning down that curved area in front of the bird since when I opened this image, it immediately pulled my eyes away. Overall a pleasing image, and I like the environment.

Excellent quality image, it reminds me of one of your sanderling shots, it portrays the bird beautifully in it's environment.
