    Default American Kestrel with 1DX

Here is a female kestrel shot I got at Half Moon Bay with Conrad Tan and Phoo Chan. She was surprisingly cooperative. I hope you like this

I'm loving the 1DX AF and not to mention excellent high ISO performance

THe IQ at 3200 is amazing.
I only get them flying away, except they don't look back!
Really nice attractive colorful BG to go with the Kestral.
Considering how small and skittish they are, this is really impressive.

This is very beautiful Arash. Love the warmth of the light and of course your details/processing are top notch.
Can you give any insight into how you created the image? What's your approach? How close are you for this
image? How did you get such great eye contact?

Arash, this is simply crazy! I cannot even get within 100yards of one up here. Beautiful, beautiful. Head turn and spread wings—————Wow! I may have to start driving towards Calif!
Actually, my family used to own property off of Kings Mountain road. It was unfortunately sold many years ago. Wish I had it now!!

I love the sharp details and colours on this brilliant flight shot Arash. The smooth background without any distractions make the bird stand out nicely. As well as your brilliant capability at flight images this photo is a testament to the great noise capabilities of the 1D X considering this photo was taken at ISO 3200!

Not much more to add, this shot is wonderful. The Kestrel was probably looking back and wondering "Is that the new 1DX and is that guy really handholding the 600 mm?"

A beautiful image Arash. Hard to believe this is shot at ISO 3200.

The kestrel was very cooperative, he was flying between two perches and hunting so I was able to get close, maybe as close as 20 yards. All raptors give you eye contact at some point to checkout what's going on, you just need to be fast enough to capture the moment. Hand-holding your rig really helps to aim it rapidly so it helps a lot with shots like this.
