    Hi Matthew

This image has a nice calm feel to it, an aspect that I am enjoying. The muted colors have a nice "earthy" feel to them, complimenting the calmness quite well.

You nailed the focus on this guy, and I like that he/she was in the same plane as the brush. If it were mine, I'd crop to a 16:9, removing space from the bottom.

    Hi,

I also like the overall feel of the image, and the colors on the grass and the detail on the Pintail are excellent. I rather like the extensive water, although a case could be made for some cropping from the bottom, perhaps at the lower end of the reflection.

This is extra nice for my tastes, absolute serenity portrayed. The water is so smooth and looks and merges into sky nicely, low angle of shot works perfectly. The blur and subtle colors make the bird and reeds stand out beautifully, very much the 3D effect. I think the framing and composition is as good as it gets.

Hard to tell accurately at this size, but possible just a slight halo around the birds beak and forehead, but very minimal if so.

I like this shot, great colours, nice touch of pink in a couple of the stems. Great focus on the bird the reeds in same plane look well. I would just raise it a tad to give a little more above the bird. A shot I would gladly display on my photo wall at home if it was one of mine.

Magnificent image with beautiful reflection. Most appealing things are colors, balance between reeds and reflection and bird in the image.
Love the pose an details on the bird.

Awesome image as usual. How low did you get? Just above the water?

I love this, Matthew. Incredible feel to it. The colors of the reeds add so much to the image and its reflection.

Very nicely done! The FG and BG are sweet. the grasses and reflections add a lot of interest and yet the duck remains the main interest. TFS

As I scrolled down the various thumbnails this shot immediately caught my attention. I really like the serenity and the composition, I also like the overall exposure. I don't mind the pintail not having a slight head turn though that would have been ideal.
I think the neck and chest areas are a little hot and I also get the impression that the bird is a little over sharpened. As I looked at the image I rolled it up and down the screen so I could see the effect of cropping about half the still water off the base. I like the water but it is "empty" so I think a little as opposed to a lot would help the composition. My apologies if this is repetitive I have not looked at previous comments.

Some are masters of getting a bird on a perch.
Some are masters of capturing flight.
    Some are masters of composition.
You are a master of all three.
I enjoy the empty space here, though I can see another version with less space below working. The empty space is both calming
and beautiful, an extension of the thought above it, both in term of shape and color. So...a speaker? Are you playing the duck's
call then to attract it in a bit closer?

Big compliment Shawn. Thank you very much sir! Yes, using a speaker to raise his curiosity and explore the edge of the pond.

right Troy, the lens was set so that the lens hood was within an inch of dipping in the water!

I love this species, and you've done him justice. Gorgeous color, reflection, serene mood. Like others I could see a version with a little off the bottom, but simply lovely just as is. Low POV makes all the difference.

Beautiful complete scene. Like the comp as it keeps the reeds reflection intact. Wonderful mood. Very nice wall hanger!

Great habitat photo, Matthew. Those are really long reflections. Your lens must have been touching the water. Fine job.
