I spent some time at this place on first of January, which is good for shooting Long-tailed Ducks in flight.
You are on high ground, and shooting them in the water is challenging.
    Thanks for looking.

Lovely image, Karl ... excellent exposure and great topside view!
Water BG has just the right amount of detail to give a sense of place without being distracting and the color is great!

Great job getting this one Karl. Love the top side view and the great body, wing and HA. Exposure looks good and the bird is nice and sharp. Dosnt get too much better than this!! A very productive New years day for you.

Excellent image of long tail duck in flight.I like the exposure, very nice HA, wing position, beautiful colors.
Love the way duck pops up against blues, eye, pink beak and long tail.
Whites on neck looks little brighter on my monitor?

This is a great capture, love the position of the bird in the frame and head angle. Whites look a little bright on my monitor but I don't think they are blown. Real nice job on this one!

You're really nailing your images, Karl, and this one is no different. Love that pose and the little glance the duck appears to be giving you. Lovely light. Terrific angle. Wish it were mine.

    Exposure: good
Detail: a little on the lacking side, but that's being really picky. It looks like either noise reduction was run on the feathers, or this was a fair crop
    Light: very nice!
    Pose: great pose
Background, good wave background without being distracting
    Composition: good! Nice shot Karl

Excellent flight pose and great eye contact Karl. A great species that I hope to photograph some day.
Agree with Matthew re. the detail. If this isn't a big crop I'm really hoping that you can reprocess to present more details.

I agree about the details, but I like everything else here. Wonderful colours to the water!

A really great and different angle of shot on this one Karl, excellent perspective. Lots of detail and liking the eye contact with photographer. Some whites look hot to me mostly the neck and top of head
