Taken a while back when the Stags were corralling the hinds and being very protective from the young bucks like this one. These bucks were a lot easier to get close to compared to either the Stags or hinds. Shot late afternoon, the passing hinds caught the attention of this bachelor herd.

    Hi Steve,
With this less than impressive set of antlers it was probably a good idea for this young buck to watch the big boys from afar. I like this type of pose. Shows off a good profile, all four limbs, and the nice details of fur and structure in the neck and chest. Also like the different shades of green in the FG and BG.

Hi Steve - nice pose and details. I also like the variance between fg and bg colors and the bit of grass in the mouth adds to the image. Maybe a bit more room below for the virtual legs?

    Hi Steve

already commented on this one, but again like the overall tonality with the various greens and reds.Detail seems to be very good and easier to achieve with the 1DX, what i have seen so far.

Like the pose with that side look.

Wonder if it is possible to get a tad more form into the for with a B/W layer, just experimenting a lot with it .
Go with Rachel for more room for the virtual legs, but if i remember correctly there is none.

    Cheers Andreas

    Hey Steve,
I like this for all the reasons mentioned above. I'm OK with the legs as presented.....but if you have more.....only a touch for my tastes.

nice soft light and detail here Steve, and I like the colour
have to agree with more room at the bottom
does the face need a wee bit more selective USM?

This rings my bell!! The techs look spot on the detail in the coat is excellent. You managed to get both of the antlers in focus at this angle and the background is apparent but subdued, the eye is sharp and there is a bit of grass in the mouth, the fact that something has caught his attention is noticeable so the scene becomes animated. Nice one.
