Saturday, there was a report of Razorbills in Tampa Bay near my home. Sunday I could not find them, but Monday, I found a flock of 8 swimming offshore between two fishing piers. They were fairly far away so I used my 600 F4L with my 1.4X TC. I took about 30 images and when I got through reviewing them, I had about 10-15 good ones. Razorbills are very rare this far south, normally they don't migrate farther South than North Carolina. I believe that Hurricane Sandy probably messed up their migration and pushed them farther South. Razorbills have been spotted on both, the East and West Coast of Florida this year..
This one was shot with my 40D, 600 F4L w/1.4 tele., ISO 320, 1/850, F8, AV mode, AWB and using rear focusing. This is about a 40% crop of the original image.
