One of last years resolutions was to post more on BPN...unfortunately I didn't do very well...Around November I decided that in order for my photography to improve I needed to spend more time on BPN...I've been pretty good since then and as I have in the past, I am learning so much. I want to thank everyone for all their input and valuable critiques. Looking forward to a successful year of improving my photography skills! This little guy was shot this past spring. He is likely only a few days old. Canon EOS 1dMK4, 600mm with 1.4TC, ISO 400, f/7.2, SS 1/2000. Happy New Years everyone!

I like the pose, open beak, sharpness, setting, low angle and BG. I would take a little off the top. Well done Nick.

This is nice, Nick, looks sharp for a little fuzzball and the seaweed is a nice touch.

What a little cutie. Love the open bill pose. Well exposed, nice clean beach. The seaweed is a plus. I too would crop some off the top, and there is a faint ghoisting or halo-ish type artifact along the top of the head to remove.

Happy New Year to you as well!

Well captured. I like the seaweed you have included. Image works well as cropped - I wouldn't take any off top or sides.

Happy New Year to you as well Nick.
I like the pop of color from the seaweed.
I agree with others to take some off the top and see what Daniel is referring to re: ghosting above the head.

Nick, lovely pose with nice open beak. The green adds that little extra pop to the image.

Hi Nick, cute little fellow, and obviously calling one of its parents. You have brought out the soft plumage nicely, and the seaweed adds to the image. An opportunity well used.
