I haven't worked with too many bird images lately and Nancys' recent Redpoll image inspired me to play a bit with one of my feeder shots. I processed in fractalious with my charcoal sketch settings. I reduced the layer opacity to bring back a touch of color. The new version of Fractalious has a mix slider which does pretty much the same thing. I'm kinda liking the subtle fract effect in this one.

I like the softness and the subtle fract work. Very nice!

I'm kinda really liking the fract effect I think I'd like just a little more of the eye revealed but I love it just the way it is.

Dave, I like the softness that was created. I also like the feather details, I wonder if a tiny bit more room on the right for the virtual tail would be good. Nice subtle use of the filter :)

Thanks for the thoughts Cheryl and Denise. I do have more room on the right in the original file and I might pursue that.

I like the pose, the square format, the soft colors, and the Fractalius effect. The light on the underside of the branch is effective, but I'd probably tone down the light part of the background in the lower right if it were mine. My eye keeps going there.

Thank you Steve and Dennis. I'll have to agree on the lrc after you mentioned it.
