These terns were terrific subjects, we could get reasonably close without spooking them. After the local fishermen came in to land they came down and flew off repeatedly as they were collecting both offal and live fish.

    Jon:

The bird is sharp and well exposed, with a great take off pose. Nice catchlight, and the orange bill adds a nice pop of color. The upper background works for me, but in a perfect world would prefer not to have the closely spaced waves behind the head and body.

    Cheers

Great take off pose, Jonathan. Love the raised foot and the almost fully stretched wings.

Yes,a great take off pose with the raised foot. Good exposure and detail but not in love with the BG. The detail is very nice and sharp and the beak pops off the BG nicely. Well captured.

Hi Jon, perfect timing to capture the raised foot and raised wings at the same time, and yes, you have exposed this nicely. I like the low perspective, and Im sure you were seated comfortabily shooting many of these images.

Lovely shot, with perfectly extended wings and the upraised foot. Sharp, well exposed and nicely composed. I love the splash of red-orange in the otherwise monochromatic image.

I love this Jonathon. Good light, very sharp, foot up, and great action depicted. Love the crashing waves in the background...great depiction of the environment. Well done!

Lovely detail and action with the raised leg. Enjoy the monochromatic nature of the image which is only broken by orange on the beak. Well captured.
