    Default Sharp Tongue

This is a big crop of a Red-bellied Woodpecker. It was taken today at a local Nature Center. I tried a looser crop but it didn't show the tongue as well. The IQ is suffering from the crop but I still like it. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

Natural history trumps all and this is a very fun look at a very gross tongue! It's not as though the IQ looks terrible or anything, far from it in fact. The blessed tongue of a RB woodpecker was heretofore unseen by my formerly unlucky eyes; many thanks!

The IQ looks fine and it is cool to see the tongue.
I might darken the pupil to remove the glare.

I like it. Rare catch of a male Red Belly with his tongue out.

Very cool Jim. Just got to see and shot one of these guys for the first time a few days ago. Beautiful birds. Never knew what their tongues looked like and that they had barbs on the end. Very sharp and well exposed too. Well done

Hi Jim, excellent detail on the tongue, and would never had guessed the have barbed sections as depicted here. I feel the IQ hasnt suffered that much, and well done on capturing something different.

What a fun image Jim. That tongue adds a lot of humor and the comp is perfect. IQ looks great to me at the presented size.
