Default Duck Spray - Mallard hen shaking off

    Attached Images Attached Images

This hen was imaged several weeks ago before the ice set in here. Although not my favorite wing position, I liked the raised pose, colors and spray

D4 600VR f/4.5 1/3200s ISO 640 Gitzo/Wimberley This is as low as I can get at this venue

Post: Crop for comp, added sliver of canvas above, selective sharpening, bit of detail extractor on wings

    Advice and comments always appreciated

    Cheers

    Randy

I like the freeze action effect with the spray.
    However, the bird is drab.
That's a serious problem with many female birds.
Not much to do about that.

A well laid out photo, Randy. I like the head angle, wing position and spray. Fine job.

The light is just about ideal, the water droplets add to the image. The detail in the birds head and neck are magic, I also like the contrasts wit the blue water. I have looked a couple of times at the image and I am wondering if it needs just a little CCW rotation, the angle form which the image was captured may be misleading me but I just have a sneaky feeling a little CCW would help.

    Hi Randy,
I like the pose very much and great body angle and HA.
Good light as well.Excellent IQ and feather detail.
I think it needs a hint of CCW rotation.
A pretty little lady. We are all guilty of taking images of mostly pretty males so I am fond of this,

Thanks folks, I appreciate your input.

I will try a version with a bit of CCW rotation. Always a challenge with the waves, splash, etc.

    Cheers
