Roy:
Very sharp, well exposed, nice pose, effective DOF.
Interesting the balancing of the greenery vs. the bird. I like the concept, but for some reason it strikes me as slightly awkward. perhaps a tiny sliver more room on the right.
I will check back later and see if I can elaborate on my feelings on comp. a bit more.
Cheers
Randy
Nice pose and perch with excellent detail!
Agree with Randy about more room on the right.
I'm seeing a definite blue cast ... try adding some yellow and see what you think.
A tiny touch of fill flash would have helped to open up the shadow on the underside.
The little stub of a branch keeps catching my eye on this one. Other than that very nice image.
A super pose for the chickadee, and excellent detail/exposure.
I too would like a little more space to the right of the bird. He is obviously intent upon something and this leads the eye downward to where he is looking, it is a little unfortunate that the branches with pine needles are cut off at this point, leaving me with an impression that something is missing in terms of composition. The first thing that caught my eye though was that little stubby bit that has been broken off - easily fixed!.
Nice pose, excellent details. These guys have a lovely character. Nice work, Roy.
I like the pose, intent look, perch, exposure, details and clean BG. Stub already mentioned. Nice image Roy.
Thanks for all the suggestions. Here is a repost with no stubs, more room on the right side and hopefully the blue cast is gone
