I took a few frames of this guy's flying by. This one came out with showing the close wing only.
I did sme cleaning of the background getting rif off some OOF Geese at the bottom and smoothened the dark spots from the to area also.
    Thanks for looking.

You nailed this one, Karl. Very well exposed with great detail in the whites. I like the way the body is turned slightly toward us with the tail fanned out. Some might wish for a bit of head turn, but this is lovely to my eye.

Wow great timing and super exposure, and those feathers on the neck make for a really interesting image. I have a slight reservation over composition, I think I would move the bird slightly over to the left.

I am fine with the exp, sh, and composition though not with the bird's head angled slightly away from us. Where exactly? What date?

    Thanks Artie.
I had a better picture of the same bird posted earlier. (http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ead.php/105631)
I was at the Farm Loop, standing relatively close to the Farm deck. These birds were flying in.
Sometimes the whole flock took to the air. The date was 30th of November and the time was 10:42 AM.
Shortly after this shooting we left for Socorro, to have a lunch break.

Technically a fine image and I agree with Artie about the head angle. I'd prefer some eye contact. The missing wing is a bit bothersome too.

Sharpness and exposure are excellent. Head angle could be a little better. The BG is pretty, but I think I see a cloning artifact in the URC (a faint diagonal line).

Thanks on all counts Karl. The other one is better. Sorry that I missed it. You got the bird before it turned back to the north into that ever-present N wind.

Thanks Doug. I fixed the problem or I think I did. I almost forgot to attach the corrected image. Sorry.

    Great shot Karl.
Exposed very well, wonderful background, and sharp.
    Well done.
