I love the cocky pose from this oxpecker.
If the mods feel it should be moved to wildlife please do so but I am in it for the bird "small in the frame"!
Comments and critiques always appreciated and learned from with thanks,

I think is would be better suited for Wildlife, but a very nice photo.
I would lower the exposure a tad if if were mine.
Since Rhinos are about my favorite animal, I am partial to this, I like the Rhino pose as well as the Oxpecker.

Very interesting picture, Gail. I think it should fit both categories. I feel that you could go a little darker overall.

    Very nice shot.
I really like the pose of the bird.
It's very interesting how they co-exist with each other.
    Well done.

Hi Gail, this is just fine in avian, as its about the oxpecker, and not the rhino. I do like the pose of the oxpecker, and against a clear part of the BG. You have probably cropped in already, but in an ideal world, cropping tighter to maybe have shown just the two horns and the oxpecker, which in turn would have given us more detail and colours of the oxpecker. Still something different, and an opportunity well seen.

Ever since I was a young child { more than a day or two ago } I was fascinated by watching documentaries of Africa and the Oxpeckers, very interesting birds I think.....I'm easily pleased . ...so, I cant help but like this one even if the Oxpecker is tiny against the Rhino

Gail, I think this is a super shot and a well seen opportunity. I hope you don't mind but I have attached a version for your consideration, I have simply used curves to lower the brighter tones and I have added a small round of Smart sharpen to the oxpecker.

    Thanks Jonathan,
It looks much better. I don't know how I missed the brightness issue- too much eggnog!

Really cute, agree with you that the little bird's pose is endearing. Was the rhino taking a nap?

Love the original and the re-post is a big improvement. The darker image is a bit more powerful , IMHO.

Way to think creatively Gail. I love this shot, but agree with the tighter crop and the slightly darker image. Well done.

Cool image. I think the re-post brings out the bird a little better.

Delightful image Gail! Loved your title. The ride is definitely pimped out, now someone just needs to
wake it up :) The slightly tighter repost makes this fine natural history image sing even better.
