Seasons greetings to all the dearest Bird lovers out there.

This is a Short toed snake eagle, I waited for the wind to help me get the crown like effect and it happened.

    spec: 1/800, F.5.6, ISO 800

    Mk4+500mm+1.4 TC on Bean bag.

    regards,

    Kiran.

Kiran, beautiful image. I really like the way the Eagle appears to be looking directly at you. Great OOF background and lighting.

We don't see you here that often anymore Kiran, but when we do ,you always have a shot that is super!
I like your low POV and the central placement of the eagle.
The eyes almost look like owl eyes. I wish the head was turned slightly more to the right so that we could see the right eye completely but that is a very minor issue.
Excellent DOF for 5.6. How big of a crop?
    Nice BG as well
The wind blown head feathers really make this a great shot,
    Gail

    What a beautiful scene.
The wind-blown feathers are a real treat!

It's a little bit magenta. Was this intentional, helping to tell the story of late afternoon light maybe?

Wow, one of the nicest looking raptors I have seen. Love the looking back pose and the head gear is amazing. Great work, Kiran.

For all that this presentation of your Crowned Eagle is or isn't Kiran you have shown us the most important feature, in your usual beatiful style, and that being the eyes.

I would have liked to see the talons but no matter.

Seasons greeting back at you also.

    Richard

Hi Gail, Thank you.. been a bit busy at work front and somehow go lost, I hope I am back now :) This is about 60% of the original Gail. The DOF turned out quite good and also I sharpen the birds back and tail a bit more.. regards, Kiran.

Hi Chris, The last light from the setting sun setup the magenta cast and gave this over saturated feel.. regards, Kiran.

Looking at the thumbnail, I thought this was an owl, and mis-identified as an eagle, with those yellow eyes, and the wind-blown feathers giving it a roundish shaped head. Wonderful image, great low angle, great light, and super low angle make this a winner. This is the first image I have seen from you (I haven't been here that long) and I hope to see more. Well done.
