I liked the way the early morning sun lit this guy up as he raced across the shallows. Ding Darling last month. C&C always appreciated.

Great light and excellent capture of the motion. Love the OOF reflection and the water is really nice, Bill.

Very nice Bill, lovely subtle color tones in this and the raised foot and rakish angle of the bird add lots of life to the image

This is a bird on a mission! IQ is excellent as is POV.
I like the pose and the light but feel the white balance is off a bit. The light on the reddish neck feathers looks too salmon pink and the water color is a funny blue. As you were there, I trust this is how you saw it but still looks a bit off to me,

    Excellent pose and detail.
I would lower the exposure just a tad to bring out the color a bit more.

Thank you all. Gail and Dan: I thought the image looked pretty much as I remembered the scene. It was taken minutes after the rising sun cleared the distant tree line and lit up the egret, so the light was definitely rosy. But I tried a few tweaks (lowered brightness by 10 points and moved the color balance slider a bit toward the blue), and the result does indeed make the image more appealing. What do you think? Thanks for the input.

Repost looks better for me Bill.
The raised foot pops more and the colors do look richer.

Hi Bill, I like the repost. The bird and the water still look just slightly warm to me, but that's as it should be, given the incident light and the time of day. It's not always desirable to completely correct for the color of the light. That's why we like the warm rays just after sunrise and just before sunset!

    Bill Sir:
Magnificent image of walking or running? Egret.
Love the wonderful lights, beautiful colors and water dripping from the raised foot and water trail behind.
