One of the most common birds at the heronry near my home.
Although they are common I still find them beautiful in their breeding plumage.

    Canon 1DX
    500mm +1.4x
    f/7.1
    1/2500
    ISO 800
    Manual mode

Extended some canvas left and top.

This is truly a lovely capture with spot on exposure. Terrific pose. I would like to see the egret just a little more into the frame.

    Hi Arno,
The bird looks terrific with perfect exposure. I like the wing position. Would give the feet a bit more room.
I am not fussy about the sharp gradient color change in the BG and would smooth out the darker smudges in the green BG above the bird.

Nice wing position. A pano crop would improve this. I forgot that for the repost. But I did tone down the WHITEs on the near wing, repaired the disheveled neck feathers, did some bill and lores clean-up and darkening.

I'm a fan of the wing down postion, very nice on this one. Also, this shows that a good job on the whites isn't only achieved in the laundry. Nice exposure!
