Very nice BG. Like the light and pose, I do wish the eye was a bit more sharp.

Very nice capture, Dan. I actually like seeing him look down. I think it would be helpful if you sharpened the bird, but esp its face, a little more.

The full upper view of the wing and curved tips on both wings are a treat. The perspective compelling, it feels like the bird is very close. Sorry, I don't have a single suggestion for improvement.

Really like the wing position and the Bg. The HA does not bother me. I agree that the head may need a tad more sharpening. Nice capture!

Dan, This is a very nice shot. I have been chasing Harriers for the last few weeks and can tell you that its not that easy to get a sharp close shot of one.
I would be very happy to have made this capture and you should be proud. Looks more than sharp to me. Great BIF.

About as good as it gets, I personally think to add any more sharpening to this image would make it look a bit unnatural, really nice with the upturned wing Dan, perfectly isolated from the background as well....magnificent looking creature....I'm green with envy lol

Lovely image, I like the detail capture in the wings and think the images looks just fine as presented.

Thanks for the comments and I agree with Marina that it is a bit soft.
I have become hesitant to sharpen much as I don't like the look and the head was not
in critical focus although I thought it looked alright.
I was lucky and got a lot of nice flight frames for the first time of Harriers yesterday and I
have sharper ones but just liked the BG and the wings of this one.

    Nice one Dan.
I love the BG and the separation the the harrier from the BG.
Agree with a bit more sharpening,
    Gail

Looks as if sharpest focus was on the near wing. Detail there is spectacular. The head angle bothers me a lot. It would have been great if the bird had been looking down and a bit to its left. With the head turned a bit away the eye is not as sharp as it should be--note how sharp the collar of feathers around the neck is. Also, the upper part of the iris is shaded because the bird's head is turned away from the light. Lastly, the bird is angled slightly towards us but the head is angled slightly away thus exacerbating the problems mentioned above.

Nice backgound Dan, it's just about a perfect canvass for presenting your Harrier. I do wish the head had more seperation from the body but as in all wildlife photography we take what we can get.
