    Default Painted El Capitan

Another Yosemite image from my recent trip... this one is El Capitan taken in the morning. I waited for the sun to light up the entire monolith while keeping the trees and river in shadow. With relatively low water flow, it's a great time for getting good reflection on the river. For processing, I removed some debris in the water and used two different layers for Topaz simplify with modified settings for B&W and Bizsum. Applied selected adjustment layers for colors, contrast and levels. Hope you like it...

I like it a lot! The sun on the rock and the rest in shadows allows El Capitan to stand out and glow. Great planning on your part. I like the simplified look, the lovely smooth water with reflections, the sky. Also, I like how the trees lean inward. Lovely work.

You are so lucky Indranil to be able to visit Yosemite as often as you do. Beautiful peaceful scene- does it need a slight rotation? I love the filtering you applied.

Indranil, a beautiful painterly El Capitan I especially like the lighting on the tops of the trees.

Beautifully done, Indranil. The painterly result is very appealing. Especially like the reflection and it's tones. Agree with Denise it might need a slight CCW rotation.

Thanks all. I appreciate it... Denise, Steve, thanks for the feedback on ccw rot... I had already done a bit of rot and I will check for more.
