    One last Hawk kill photo.
I cropped tight, the best light I had all day on a rainy day, only iso1600!
    The crop is still 10mp.

And a great one to finish the series up on Dan..!! The overcast weather has provided some lovely soft lighting here showing off the hawk's superb feather details.
The pose of the hawk in this frame provides lots of impact, almost a mantling pose and the piece of prey adds futher interest telling the story. A great series Dan well seen and executed.

An impressive image - lots of impact. I like the shot as it is but I wonder if a slight brightening on the eye would increase impact even further.

Been a great series Dan, beautiful especially considering the adverse weather, but at least there was less chance of blown highlights....awesome bird and powerful image

Thanks for showing us this series!
I think Jonathan's idea of brightening the eye is excellent.
I really like the mantling pose and your clean BG.The pop of red from the prey adds to the shot.

Different and very cool pose. Agree that the eye could be brightened just a tad. Very nice capture.

You did a great job of telling this story. THe pose here is super, and you get the feeling of power from your shooting angle. As I commented in a previous image, to my eye, the grass is a bit too saturated.

Very nice Dan. Like the detailes that come out of this camera even after cropping. The hawk looks quite satisfied :-)
