Nice natural setting for the Spiny Greg, nice light and detail, love the vivid eye, but I think maybe the orange tonings need tweaking back a little, the birds color is not quite natural as is.

I love these birds, we get them here as well, but not in any big numbers......me thinks I should think about capturing some more of these lovelies again soon

Hi Greg, a species that I havent seen before, and what a lovely array of colours they have. The Spinebill is sharp, and just love that eye. I really like how he posed against the clean sweet BG, and the sloping perch works for me.

I really like this diagonal composition of the Spinebill Greg. Nice sharp image, good perch and a great BG. Love the red eye on these little honeyeaters.
Agree with Phil that the orange/yellow plumage is a little rich for an Eastern Spinebill but still a lovely clean image.

This bird has striking colours and pattern. One of the most desired pose with the legs spread. In a perfect world he would turn his head ever so slightly towards us.
Love the perch, sharpness details and background. Great overall image, Greg.

Brilliant image. The care and thought that went into creating this image is very obvious.
A gorgeous bird as well, sweet plumage, eye!, and interesting bill obviously designed for
specific probing purposes. Karl's right about the head angle imo, but all else is stellar.

Fantastic image...everything came together beautifully for you here. Is this a setup? If so, how did you attract the bird on the perch...food, audio?

Wow, lovely little bird and the red eye certainly pops from the yellows, blacks and greens around it.
I like the diagonal perch and would like to see a crop from the bottom to have the perch start in the bottom LHC.

Thanks for the feedback guys! Daniel - yes the perch was a setup and the bird was attracted in to some playback. I usually have trouble with this species landing on my perches, but this guy happily obliged!
    Cheers, Greg

Fantastic bird, love the light and pose. The clean BG and inclusion of habitat makes this one very special!
