    Default South Georgia Shag

This needed some leveling (2.84 degrees Artie) and I cropped about 1/6 from the left to remove a boat and bottom to remove an intruding wing.

    1D-IV, 70-200 f/2.8 at 200mm, ISO 200, 1/640 at f/8, aperture priority.

A nice BIF pose Alan with wings caught in the ideal position. The cormorant is well exposed for the dark and light plumage.
The amount of ocean environment that you have shown here adds interest to this composition.

    Hi Alan,

I really like seeing the cormorant in its environment like this - and what a wild environment it is! The comp works very well and the exposure looks to be spot-on.

    Well done.

Looks like a kind of cormorant? I like the colourful face and LOVE the background, gives this a lot of context Alan.
I might be tempted to pull a little more detail from the black feathers...

Very nice Alan. The mountains in the BG look amazing...what a wonderful backdrop! I kinda wish there was a tiny bit more canvas above, but you've got yourself a fine image.

Alan, This is a great flying shag image! Love the bkgd and how the mountains gradually disappear into the mist. And the shag stands out nicely from the bkgd.
