The duck is a bit turned away but I still love this one with the emerald green and the yellow eye.
Comments and critiques always appreciated and learned from with thanks

PS. Just noticed the specular highlight on tip of bill and will fix that.

Excellent detail for the time of day Gail. I also like the eye color, blue BG and pose. It would have been great to have him turned slightly more towards you however still like it.

Great colors and nicely timed...he looks like he's conducting an orchestra lol.......not sure if the head would look nicer with or without the wing backdrop, but the wing does tend to make it stand out more

Excellent shot, Gail. dont mind the head turned away...infact it might have helped a bit to bring out the colors there. Composition, shooting angle, details and whites...all look good.

Hi Gail, love the light cast on the head of the shoveller, brings ou the green sheen nicely. I also like how the green on the wing matches the colour of the head. Maybe a bit away from you, but certainly tack sharp.

Gail. great job capturing the iridescence in the wings and head of the Drake Shoveler. Even though he is facing away from you the colors and sharpness make the shot special. Not that easy to show those kind of colors .The duck has to be exactly in the right position. I have hundreds of pictures of Drake shovelers and very few lit up like this. Well done.

I know he is lit up beautifully but I'm still torn on the head and body angled slightly away. Having said this, the image is still very appealing...the colours deep and rich and the front wing quite spectacular. Nicely done.
