    Sanjeev,

Nice sharp image with look-back pose. The OOF bird in the BG is a little distracting but, IMO, doesn't really hurt anything here as the position in the frame is balanced by the position of the main subject. The composition is good.

Hi Sanjeev- Your main problem that the light is very harsh causing shadow and highlight areas on the subject. The OOF bird in the BG is distracting. It could work if toned down and if the whole bird were showing. The unused perch branch is also distracting.

What species of cormorant is this?

You made a nice composition here, and I like the head turn. Agree that the BG bird is distracting. Might it have been possible for you to move a little to your right to get the other bird out of your image?

Would agree to clone out the distracting bird and bottom branch. Try to darken the highlighted feathers a little, I like the lighting otherwise; reminds me of portrait lighting (broad lighting to be exact...)
