Grace commented on the Grass saturation on another photo.
I did not desaturate or saturate and this is natural winter color grass in the Pacific Northwest.
It rains pretty much every day in November and December.
It gets greener here in the winter months.

They're getting better all the time Dan! I really like the drama shown with this capture with the hawk tearing up its prey.
The raised wing adds impact, very sharp image, good exposure and the rich greens look quite natural on my monitor. A great series Dan.

Looks like it's dancing to disco music.
Sharply rendered action. Proficient job pushing the techs of your high end gear, and
getting excellent results. This would be my favorite of the series thus far, though
the previous ones with multiple subjects were fascinating. Was the hawk removing
    the intestines here?

Cool shot of the hawk feeding. Looks like its finishing up with the leg of the bird its eating. Like the raised wing, dew on the grass and the hazy BG. Sharp and exposed well. Nice job on the series.

Different and unique wing position, and love it for that reason, the rest all looks great too, sharp and nice light, wonderful eye

    Hi Dan,
Can I come and play at your house? You are getting some awesome images of these beautiful raptors.
What struck me most was the beautiful look at the pantaloons. And then my eye sees all the feathers which adds/tells the story. Great low POV and the unusual pose makes this shot unique.
    Keep them coming,
    Gail

One fine image. Great story told. A day in the life of a Hawk. Very cool.

Very nicely captured Dan. I'm glad that the wing wasn't cropped off. Great timing and nice comp for the image

Hi Dan - very nicely done. Pose is great as is the low pov. Nice detail too and I think the rain/dew drops add to it.

A fun image, one that would be ideal for a caption contest :-) I like the action portrayed here, and the green grass looks so lush and I like the dew drops on it. Some fill-flash might have spooked it in the field, but in post I'd play with the dodge tool a bit on the subject to make it "lit" better.

Excellent action shot, Dan. The rain droplets look very nice on the grass. The bird looks sharp and well detailed. Excellent DOF and HA. The raised wing on one side looks as if she/he was pointing to a direction something important. Love the see the feather covered legs. The colouration and patter of the RTHA looks different in our area.
