Late, that evening, I saw something I had never seen before, an Ostrich on the dunes.

I am so glad you posted this image here, Kiran, b/c it is outstanding. The light is amazing, and I just love the environment, placement of the ostrich, the line of the dune into the right hand upper corner and how you used the brush in your FG. I would be submitting this image to contests if it were mine.

Love the image here, excellent environment shot that show great landscape while the attention is on the ostrich. Also love the light and your choice of composition too.

This is a stunning image. IMO, it would be even better if the shadow of the Austrich was not touching the edge of the frame and the Austrich was not mostly in shadow. Do you have other similar frames?

Agree this is stunning and a contest winner. I didn't notice the shadow until Jim mentioned it. I think the shadow is a very minor part of the overall impact of the photo, and it's not an issue with me. Well done!

Amazing scenery here, great play of light in the dunes. I like the comp alot, and the bird small in the frame here works very well. The strip of vegetation along the bottom is a very nice touch. Although very minor I would remove the tiny bit of blue sky peeking in at middle edge above. I would so love to see this image posted larger!!

    Hi,

A great example of how a bird can still be small in an image, and contribute to a superb overall feel. I agree with all the positive comments that have already been made.

Thanks, all, appreciate all the feedback (including the tiny bit of visible sky) ! I will try and PP a larger image if I get a chance before leaving for vacation tomorrow...

Thanks ! Unfortunately, I could shoot only 1 frame of the scene before the Ostrich moved away from this scene...
