    Default RED

    Adult Red-tailed Hawk

Normally I would have choosen F/5.6 or higher, but the background in this location are not the greatest, so I thought I would try for a bit more blurr.
Also a great bird to test new settings with.

    Canon 1Dx - 300mm F/2.8 + 1.4x
    F/4.5 @ 4000s - ISO 400
    Thanks for looking,

This image sure looks nice and sharp. I like the angle of the pose and you did well blurring out your BG. If it were mine, I would give it a little more room bottom and left.

I like your choice of DOF here, the head and eye are sharp while the wings are slightly blur, then the background are totally out of focus. It feels too tight for me, so more room all around would be nice.

Techs and details are super. The subject pops from the screen! I love the slightly tilting flight pose, but a bit tight in the frame I agree.

Agree that this is an amazing flight shot. If no room to crop wider, you could extend canvas at the left and top. That might not work well at the bottom though. Well done and super sharp.
