It's getting to be that time of year again, and I can't wait to get out to the Alafia Banks again with Capt. James to photograph the Roseate Spoonbills.

The f8 worked very well, as there is a lot of depth to the bird.
Very nice comp also, nothing I would change.

Well that's an interesting wing position! Love the pose and the colorful reflections in the water. The bird looks sharp and well exposed. TFS

Nice to have a fresh take on the Spoonbill. I agree with all the comments above.

Spoonbills are a lot of fun to see, but they are so goofy looking!

Great Pose with that wing-stretch Marina, very sharp image and i love those warm tones reflected in the water. You are so fortunate getting such colouful spoonbills and Ibis over your way. Very envious!

Hi Marina, sweet, sweet light, which in turn has brought out lovely rich colours on the Spoonie. Love the forward leaning pose and semi wing stretch, and overall nice and sharp. An opportunity well used.

Marina, wonderful light with some very gorgeous light! Can you point me in the right direction for some tours from Capt James? This will be my last year in FL (graduating from UF) and I want to make the most of it!

Beautiful morning light really brings out the color on this spoonie. Terrific detail and exposure. A good one, Marina.

Wow, although the subject itself is very pleasing this image is all about the light! Neat pose and I like the disheveled 'do on this youngster...

Hi Miguel: Why don't you send a PM to James Shadle, the publisher of this site, and let him know you are interested in a pontoon trip out to the Alafia Banks with him. It usually starts getting good out there in February but stays good up until quite a bit later than that!

What else can I say Marina that hasn't already been said? Very nice - warm light and wonderful colors.

I am interested too in a trip out with James, but am coming down in mid-January. Is that too early? (Guess I should ask him, eh?) TFS!

I cant wait to go out there with you and the Cpn and friends girl. Love the light and pose and almost smile happening there. I also really like the metallic feel of the water near the feet.
