Hi Rachel - do not really know what to think about this one.

Like the idea behind it, maybe a position really out the rules , would work for me. For example place the subject more in one corner and leave really a lot of space to two directions. BTW reminds of an image that Rudi posted some time ago (cheetah).

I also think the WB itself is too dark for my taste .By knowing it is hard to make the eye of them visible.Maybe you can try by lightening the face , without knowing if it will work ?!.

The grass is a really nice contrast to the subject.

Thanks Andreas. Perhaps something like this? Btw it took me a while to warm to the image too and that's one of the reasons I posted it. I've also done a b&w version.

    Thanks again,
    Rachel

Looks more interesting to me.Think you can do not more about the darkness on the head, unless you start from scratch. Do i see a halo from masking ?

A lot of room now, but i like it more, even if a lot of folks would say "dead space",which is right, but leave as room for book cover where the title is written .

Thanks Andreas, there may be a slight halo as I did the rp very quickly just to see if it was along the lines of what you were thinking.

    Thanks again,
    Rachel

    Hi Rachel,
Nice simple image, I prefer the slightly off center look of the OP. Just a touch more definition around the eye for me.

Hi Rachel, I think the RP has the edge on colour, but not wholly convinced on the crop on either, still like a 16 x 9 format on this, but you would need to add a fraction more canvas to the RHS.

It has a Delaneyesque look to the image.

I think this is definitely one that you'll have to look at a few times to appreciate and "warm to".
I like your repost with the gnu moved into the corner, and the colours are also better for me in the RP (good call by Andreas, for my taste).
Will look out for your B&W

Thanks Steve, Steve and Morkel. Here's the b&w version for Morkel and in 16x9 for Steve

Many cool things to do with such a cool shot. If it were mine I would warm the grasses a bit for more "gold" but that's my taste.
