    Default A Pleasing Pixel bender

I have been having a lovely time upgrading my computer over the last few days and spending several hours on the phone trying to resolve some issues...most but not all are sorted out finally...and now I am able to use the PB filter...not too mention fly through the D800's image files. My old system I would pretty much have to go for a coffee while photoshop did its thing.

Here is my first attempt at using PB Oil Paint. The frog is a Pleasing Poison Frog (Ameerega bassleri).

    Look forward to comments.

Surreal, Andrew! I've said it before, but the eyes always get me. Pure attitude here.
Glad to here you're having fun now. This guy's name is one of the best oxymorons I've heard of!! Curious what system you changed too? I just received my D800e and wondered what you were using to handle it's files.

Pleasing Poison? How funny. Great look on this one - very Van Gogh-ish

PB works well on this one! He does have quite the attitude. Agree that the name is funny.

A turquoise frog appeals to my sense of color. I wish there were more details in the mouth area. Maybe have a little difference in amount of PB in frog vs. background, to make frog stand out more. You must be very happy to have upgraded your computer! What did you upgrade to?

Thanks folks for the comments, much appreciated.

I have leased a Dell XPS 8500 with 16 GB of Ram, 2TB hard drive and I believe the graphics card is a 1GB or bigger card. The operating system is Windows 8 Pro, which means little to a computer illiterate guy like me I upgraded to Photoshop CS6, but when I installed my genuine download from Adobe I received a message saying the software was counterfeit. After fixing that issue, for some reason the lastest version of Bridge will display some images from the D800 in the preview pane and others it won't. This is rather frustrating. My version of CS5 displays all the images from the D800 perfectly fine.

I like the effect of PB, it looks like a very textured oil painting...I would have tried to lighten up the black below the head and body, just to bring out some of the details.
Nice one and congrats on new computer.
